This piece in Time suggests India’s younger generation is choosing jeans and tunics over the traditional sari. Power looms and cheap Chinese imports are killing the traditional handloom industry.

The sari will never die. It will always live on in Bollywood musicals and TV soaps. There will always be sari inspired bed linen, cushions and curtains! And of course, 9 yards of unlimited billboard potential pioneered by designer Satya Paul‘s ode to Google!
