The TOI tells us three Nanos caught fire – the world’s cheapest car. We loved this Tata spokeman’s quote, “There was a minor emanation of smoke, following which there was localised meltdown of some of the wires in the combination switch area probably because of a short circuit.”

A long winded way to say, “The wires near the steering wheel caught fire.” Oh, and they’re not doing ‘recalls’, they’re doing “pre-delivery audits,” or as we know it, “we’re going to do our jobs and check our cars before taking people’s valuable money.”  Imagine that!
