The “New” Wheel Of The Future Is Here!

In Entrepreneurs, Environment, Sports, Technology on February 14, 2010 at 5:28 pm

Being from countries where bicycles are a part of every day commuting, and living in a country that could use a lot more, this new invention is just awesome.  Working on this independently, Myshkin Ingawale was invited from Calcutta to MIT to work on his  invention.

This concept involves setting a special disc on the rear wheel of a bicycle, which converts the latter into a green, eco friendly mobility machine, which can be controlled by your smartphone. It also does not use fuel, but batteries- they can be charged either by pedaling, doing downhill, braking or by simply plugging into a wall socket. It basically stores the energy dissipated when you brake, and can use that for an acceleration boost later. (

The wheel was revealed in the Danish capital of Copenhagen (and appropriately named after it), which is striving to become the world’s first carbon-neutral capital city by 2025!
