India could really use such a concept.

Welcome to Shared Earth, a free website that connects land owners with gardeners and farmers.

Imagine this concept in India. City folk short of land get to garden in rural India and enjoy the benefits of healthy food and clean air. The rural farmer in turn gets new ideas for crops, technologies and innovations.

Think about this in the context of this story from Financial Times:

India requires a capital investment of $1,200bn in its overburdened cities to prepare them for the massive migration expected to take place from the countryside over the next two decades, research by the McKinsey Global Institute has found.
