Qasab Will Hang. What About The ‘Other Nine’?

In Crime, India on May 6, 2010 at 6:33 pm

The headlines make their way around the world. Mohammed Ajmal Amir Qasab is his full name, but the world knows him as Qasab who was the only gunman captured alive in terrorist attacks in Mumbai that left 174 dead, a city shaken at its core, and the world watching in helpless horror as ordinary Indians going about their lives were being brutally massacred.

Two years later the ‘other nine’ are just that…newswires are humming about the lone Qasab who was captured alive and will be hanged, and was among ‘the other nine’ who were killed.

To refresh all our collective memories, the other nine were Ajmal Amir from Faridkot, Abu Ismail Dera Ismail Khan from Dera Ismail Khan, Hafiz Arshad and Babr Imran from Multan, Javed from Okara, Shoaib from Narowal, Nazih and Nasr from Faisalabad, Abdul Rahman from Arifwalla, and Fahad Ullah from Dipalpur Taluka. Dera Ismail Khan is in the North-West Frontier Province; the rest of the towns are in Pakistani Punjab. (Wikipedia)

There were ten murderers that day.  All their names should be remembered, not just Qasab’s.
