Unique Places To Visit In India: Nek Chand’s Magical Mystery 25 Acre Rock Garden

83-yr old Nek Chand didn’t know he was doing anything illegal when he started a little rock garden on government land in Chandigarh in the late 1950s. Using trash from broken lightbulbs, bangles and tires Mr. Chand probably didn’t realize he was pioneering what would become a rallying cry for environmentalists today – reduce and reuse.

Today a foundation set up in UK works with volunteers to keep the park open, and at 3000 visitors a day is one of the most popular sites in India to visit. (full story at GOOD)

Have you ever received the ‘Sachin Tendulkar Bandra Shell House’ email? The one of a house shaped like a shell (actually more like a snail) and is claimed to be Sachin Tendulkar’s house in Bandra?  Yup…I’ve been getting it for the past month. It’s being posted in various Indian blogs and been viral on the Internet.

Time to out the fakesters – The email is FALSEIt is NOT Sachin Tendulkar’s house in Bandra, but the Mayorga Residence in Mexico designed by Mexican architect Javier Senosiain.
