Being from countries where bicycles are a part of every day commuting, and living in a country that could use a lot more, this new invention is just awesome. Working on this independently, Myshkin Ingawale was invited from Calcutta to MIT to work on his invention.
This concept involves setting a special disc on the rear wheel of a bicycle, which converts the latter into a green, eco friendly mobility machine, which can be controlled by your smartphone. It also does not use fuel, but batteries- they can be charged either by pedaling, doing downhill, braking or by simply plugging into a wall socket. It basically stores the energy dissipated when you brake, and can use that for an acceleration boost later. (Tech2.com)
The wheel was revealed in the Danish capital of Copenhagen (and appropriately named after it), which is striving to become the world’s first carbon-neutral capital city by 2025!
